There are still probably some optimizations to be done, but this is acceptable.

Check GTmetrics: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/slopeheights.com/obXQSGFh under Optimize images tab you will have your image and the link to optimized version. Download it and replace it on your website. Also, you can use caching plugin.

Hello, from my customer,

"I reduced the images to the point where some are distorted. Still, the site is slow. Don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I may have to resort to my old site which has images over 150kb and itis fast."

What can we do to speed up the load times?  Customer is unhappy with the theme and we'd like to get it resolved.

The issue seams to be from images. You can install Smush Image Compression and Optimization plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/.

I'm diagnosing the incredibly slow page load times for my customers site using the theme. It takes about 27seconds to load.  Some of it has to do with image sizes, but I suspect there may be other issues associated with the theme.

What do you recommend we do to shorten the page load time.  Is there anything in the theme that is causing issues like render-blocking resources?

I will be installing a cache plugin.
